In the early eighties, fresh out of college, Sushil found himself navigating one of India's most bureaucratic environments, and discovering, in the process, his greatest professional asset. Not ambition, not qualifications, but the ability to build genuine, lasting relationships where others relied on authority. He rose quickly, and carried one belief forward that he repeats to this day: “Personal rapport and long relationships open doors that even money cannot.” It was this instinct that eventually drew him to travel, and to a deep love for curating journeys for international visitors.
In 1990, he founded his own travel company, in an era of telex, fax machines, and phone lines that took hours to connect. No shortcuts, no systems. Only discipline and an unrelenting attention to detail that became the foundation of everything that followed. In 2005, a new vision demanded a new name. Truly India Tours was born.
Saransh Gupta took his first flight at twenty-five days old. By sixteen, he had journeyed through nearly twenty Indian states. He joined the business in 2014, starting deliberately at the bottom, transfers, group escorts, familiarisation trips, before building upward with intent. Today, he has travelled to over sixty-five countries, studying the world's finest ground operations and returning each time with a higher standard to apply to his own.
